Background: David Spearman, originally from Seattle and now residing in Suwanee, Georgia, has a unique and enduring connection to pickleball. He first encountered the sport 40 years ago as part of a gym class, a casual introduction that foreshadowed his future dominance. His return to the game in 2016 was spurred by a shoulder injury that sidelined him from tennis, providing him with a new avenue to continue his competitive athletic pursuits. While he has since returned to playing tennis competitively, pickleball now holds priority in his athletic life.

Pickleball Journey: David's re-entry into pickleball in 2016 quickly propelled him to the top echelons of the sport. He has achieved the impressive #1 ranking in Men's Mixed Doubles and Men's Singles Super Senior Pro, and is ranked #2 in Men's Doubles Super Senior Pro. Prior to this, he was the #1 Senior Pro in Singles and a US Open Senior Pro Singles Gold medalist. His long list of achievements also includes multiple Nationals medals, two of which are Gold. Initially playing 4-5 tournaments a year, David's commitment has grown with the advent of professional tours, and he aimed to play 10-12 events in 2021. A significant highlight was securing first place in the 2021 U.S. Open in Senior Pro Singles.

On-Court Presence: David's strategic mindset and competitive drive are evident on the court. His ability to adapt and excel, transitioning from a childhood pastime to a professional career, showcases his inherent talent and dedication. He plays out of Windward Lake Club and North Georgia Pickleball Club, consistently demonstrating the skill and experience that have earned him top rankings and numerous medals in the Super Senior Pro division.

Off-Court Interests: Beyond his remarkable achievements in pickleball, David leads a full and active life. He works full-time as the Land Manager for D.R. Horton Homes in Atlanta. His dedication to both his professional career and his demanding pickleball schedule highlights his disciplined nature. David's journey is a testament to the fact that passion for competition can find new expression at any stage of life, and that pickleball offers a vibrant and rewarding path for athletes like him.
