For Tony T., pickleball is more than a game—it's a community. After transitioning from racquetball in 2013, Tony discovered a sport that offered both fierce competition and incredible sportsmanship14. He's played in tournaments across the country, appreciating the way the game brings people together from all walks of life.

One of the highlights of his pickleball journey was attending a three-day Engage Training Camp in Phoenix. The instruction was "absolutely outstanding" , and the experience helped him get his "money's worth". It was a reminder of what the game is all about: hard work, good sportsmanship, and a passion for play.

Tony's story is a testament to the power of community. He's grateful for the partners he’s found through the "find a partner website" and the friends he's made along the way. His biggest supporter, however, is his wife, Dora, who has been his "biggest fan" for 35 years and hasn’t missed a single tournament. For Tony, the success he has found is a result of the unwavering support he receives.

Tony leaves us with a bible verse he keeps in mind on the court:
"And also, if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules" (2nd Timothy 2:5).

This spirit of fair play and community is what makes pickleball such a great sport.
We're grateful to Tony for sharing his journey and for being a part of the Engage family!
