With an extensive background in both playing and coaching tennis, Mattias Johansson has made his mark in the world of pickleball. In 2019, he achieved a remarkable #1 ranking in USTA National Singles, clinching the National Hardcourt championships. With 30 senior professional tour singles titles, Mattias has been a dominant force since joining the pro tour(s) in April 2021.
Alongside his successful playing career, Mattias boasts an impressive 28 years of head coaching experience at Vanguard University and UC Riverside, where he currently serves as the Director of Tennis for Men's and Women's Tennis. His contributions to the sport have been recognized through his induction into the Vanguard Hall of Fame as both a player and a coach in 2014, as well as his induction into the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame (NAIA) in 2015.
As the current #1 in the world in Pickleball Senior pro singles ranking, Mattias's achievements include being the 2022 Grand Slam winner, triumphing at the US Open in New York, PPA Championships, and Nationals. He has a long list of Pro Tour Singles Titles and has also earned numerous silver and bronze medals in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.
